On Thursday, May 24 seventh grade students will be participating in a waste awareness and recycling field trip coordinated by the City of Chilton in cooperation with Chilton Middle School teachers Mrs. Downham, Mrs. Munsch, Mr. Callahan, Ms. Schultz and Chilton Area Catholic School teacher Mrs. Holden.

Calumet County uses single-stream recycling. Residents use recycling carts which allow all recyclables to be placed directly into the carts. There is no separation of paper versus plastic.
The City of Chilton is responsible for ensuring recycling compliance within the community and is dedicated to providing education on the benefits of recycling to help prevent recyclables from going to waste in our landfills. Thousands of tons of resources are lost each year when people place items in the trash that should be recycled.
